Study visit in Greece, Polykastro

The LISTEN project, held a study visit on December 2025 at the Open Cultural Center in Polykastro, Greece, where refugees, migrants, local volunteers, and project partners came together to co-design a multicultural community festival. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in storytelling, visual planning, and collaborative decision-making, embedding participatory methods into everyday language classes to ensure accessibility for people with diverse linguistic and educational backgrounds.

The study visit demonstrated how community members can move from being recipients of activities to active co-creators, shaping a shared celebration through inclusive, low-threshold methodologies. The report highlights practical tools, lessons learned, and concrete outcomes that show how participatory co-design, multilingual communication, and non-formal education can strengthen community ownership, social inclusion, and meaningful engagement in contexts involving refugees and other marginalised groups.
