The community map is an art installation in IPDJ created by non-profit informal community Geek Sessions Faro, and it is mapping 47 community-based projects in the algarve that range from tecnology, arts, culture, entrepreneurship, female and queer community empowerment and social/environmental impact. Counting around 70 projects already mapped only in the south, the map is then transformed digitally so participants can keep adding to it and showing a community-driven ecosystem, not only to the city, but to the entire world, through https://local.foundation/ecosystem. Each project in the exhibition has basic information in english and portuguese explaining what each project is about, pictures and artwork, and how to connect to the community. More than that, we show how dense some cities in the algarve are, and how each community is connected to several others in the same exhibition. The space is open with live demos and a VR art documentary on the day of our tech conference, further connecting technology with community.
