LISTENing to Local Voices: Key Challenges Facing Community Organisations Across Europe

Based on findings from LISTEN’s participatory assessment events, local community organisations across Europe, from urban Verona to rural Topolovgrad, face common challenges: burnout from over-reliance on volunteers, lack of stable funding, digital divides, and barriers to youth and migrant participation.

Yet despite these obstacles, local energy and commitment remain strong.

What’s urgently needed is sustainable funding, inclusive infrastructure, and meaningful intergenerational collaboration.
