“Children Speak for the Sea” is a participatory school project involving first and third grade primary students who express their concerns, ideas, and hopes about the sea through art, slowmation, and educational robotics.

First grade students explore their emotional connection with the sea by creating drawings and simple animated stories that reflect how they see the sea today and how they wish it to be in the future. Third grade students build upon these messages by developing short slowmation narratives and symbolic robotic constructions using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 and LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential, proposing ways to protect marine life and reduce pollution.

Through collective discussion, shared decision-making, and creative expression, the project promotes civic participation, social inclusion, and democratic values, highlighting the importance of listening to children’s voices when addressing environmental challenges.
