In September 2025, young people in Palermo began gathering every Saturday in a deconsecrated baroque church to explore what it means to stay in a marginalised southern territory, not as resignation, but as a political and creative act.
Together they made fanzines, affective maps, and collective performances. They used photography to question how the South is represented. They sang, cooked, and walked their neighbourhood with new eyes. They worked in groups called Disobedient Margins, Care Ecosystems, Imaginary Narratives.
What emerged was not just artistic work, it was a community with a shared language, a shared practice, and a shared refusal of the idea that the future only exists elsewhere.
In 2026, the School continues, deeper, more rooted, more connected to a Mediterranean and European network asking the same questions. To grow, it needs support.
